Background

Personal Profile

As a scientist, I am passionate about finding sustainable solutions for our world's energy needs, and the entire green energy sector. My focus is on the synthesis of lithium-ion battery materials, which are crucial for powering everything from electric cars to smartphones By using sustainable materials, we can reduce our reliance on fossil fuels and create a cleaner, more sustainable future for generations to come. In my free, I enjoy playing golf, which allows me to unwind and recharge for my work in the lab.

Education

2024

George Washington University

During my studies, I developed a cost-effective and scalable synthetic method to produce porous silicon materials for use in energetic and Li-ion battery energy storage applications, which led to one publication Additionally, I secured over $300,000 in grant funding by studying the carbon-negative conversion of biochar to high purity crystalline flake graphite via fast LASER pyrolysis. I also led two multi-disciplinary scientific research collaborations to inkjet print flexible electronic circuits and developed aromatic polyamide polymer brushes for high surface strength and antifouling applications, contributing to four publications and two patents.

2015

Appalachian State University

As a graduate with a BS in Chemistry and a minor in Leadership Studies, I have gained skills and knowledge in both fields. Additionally, I was a Division 1 golf player during my studies. My undergraduate research focused on synthesizing novel glyoximes and cobaloximes, which were characterized using various spectroscopy techniques such as FTIR, UV-Vis, NMR, and CV. The aim was to explore their potential as hydrogen catalysts in water reduction.
